How to Land Your First Customers Using the Rule of 100
If you’re not reaching out to 100 people a day, the problem isn’t that people don’t want your product.
The problem is you’re not putting in the effort.
I call it the Rule of 100. It’s simple. For every 1 new customer you want, reach out to 100 people.
Whether it’s cold emails, DMs, or whatever hustle you’re into, this rule applies across the board.
You want 10 customers? That’s 1,000 people you need to hit up. It’s not complicated—it’s about putting in the effort every single day.
Once you commit to the Rule of 100, the conversion rate becomes the game-changer.
At first, it's all about volume—hitting that 100 outreach mark every day.
But as you see customers coming in, you’ll want to improve how many convert.
This is where optimization comes in.
You start looking at your messaging, your approach, and how well you're targeting the right audience.
Even a small bump in conversion—say from 3% to 5%—makes a huge difference.
Now, instead of getting 3 customers for 100 touches, you're getting 5.
The higher your conversion rate, the fewer people you need to reach for each new customer.
It’s no longer just about effort—it’s about maximizing every bit of that effort.
This is where the real growth starts happening, and you’ll see results scaling fast.
People love to overcomplicate it, but getting customers really comes down to that and which three core strategies to use to achieve it:
organic,
semi-organic,
and paid ads.
Whether you’ve got a budget or you’re bootstrapping from zero.
Stick with me until the end of the video, and I’ll show you exactly how to get your first 10 customers without wasting time or money with the strategies I recommend.
I’ll break down the techniques I would use for the rule of 100 so you know exactly what to do every day to hit your targets.
And If you follow this, there’s no way you’ll be stuck with zero customers after a month.
The biggest mistake people make is quitting too soon.
They send a few messages or run a small ad campaign and get discouraged when they don’t see instant results.
I know it well because most of my early startups failed that way.
That’s not how this works.
At this stage, the startup founders who fail are the ones who quit.
And If you’re doing 100 outreach a day for 30 days and still don’t have customers, you’re not failing.
You’re learning what needs to change.
Go back to the drawing board.
Re-evaluate the pain point you’re solving.
Re-think your target audience.
But don’t give up until you’ve done the work.
Remember, it’s all about input.
If your input isn’t high enough, the output won’t match.
Either you put enough input, or you use leverage to multiply your input.
But stop wondering why no one’s signing up if you haven’t even tried to do 100 outreach a day.
Assume that this is the MINIMUM benchmark.
And once you hit it consistently, the results will come.
Your first paid customer is just 100 outreaches away per day. If you’re not seeing results, you’re not pushing hard enough.
